To add blog themes, images, widgets etc;
- Open Dreamweaver
- Make sure Word Press Folder is displayed in Right hand column
- Hit the Connect Button (First button on the Left, looks like a blue plug)
- Click button on far right to see split theme showing both pc and server so they are synchronized.
- Can now transfer downloaded files e.g. themes from computer to the server so they can be applied to the blog.
Here is a screen shot of the theme editor, which shows some of the themes I have downloaded:
Mush Blue is my current favourite theme. It uses a vibrant colour palate, and more importantly it is functional in that it allows me to add widgets, banners, etc

Change Ftp Details:
After checking with Mez, I realised where I went wrong when I tried to enter my new ftp details onto Dreamweaver. Here is the correct method for entering your ftp details:
- Open Dream Weaver
- Click on Manage Site
- Select Wordpress
- Select Remote Info
Enter Details that are sent through by new host
No commentsMy FTP Details
Mez yesterday sent through my details needed for my fpt. I therefore tried to add these to my dreamweaver so that I can access the server with my own access (I think what I’m saying is right). I clicked on manage site, added the details where it was appropriate but I have no idea if it has worked - this is the first time my lack of multimedia knowledge has started to bite me on my behind, and I hate it aaaaarrrrrgggghhhh!!!!
I will double check with Mez whether whatever I have just done has worked or if its totally messed my computer, blog or everything else.
No commentsMy First Success!!!
At last, I’ve finally had my first tiny bit of success in Multimedia. I’ve actually managed to work out how to upload themes. Firstly you need to download and extract your chosen theme. Then once you have done that you need to copy and paste the new theme into the the themes folder, which is located in the folder entitled Wordpress. Then you open the theme folder in dreamweaver, hit a lovely little blue arrow and the computer magically uploads the newly downloaded onto the host server. Once that has been done you then have the option of selecting the newly uploaded theme. RESULT!!!

Thursday 28 February 2008
Now the wait for muiltimedia to begn is over. Armed with the brief I’ve downloaded from mez’s page at www.covmedia.co.uk/mez I am now going to begin my blogging adventure. Today I have taken the first steps at to becoming a fully fledged blogger by down loading the required software at www.wordpress.org. I’ve even made myself a snazzy little banner in Photoshop, wayhay!!
I downloaded 2 zipped files and extracted the contents. That is as far as I’m going to go for the time being as I broke into a cold sweat when I saw the full contents from the file - there is hundreds of documents, far too many for a novice like myself to understand, so my next port of call is to speak to mez about the next steps in tomorrows lecture…
