Favicon still not displaying - very very VERY annoying - I hate Favicons!!!!
I have left it well over a day and my favicon stil isn’t displaying, although I seem to have said this repeatedly during this module, this time I mean it - quite frankly I am baffled!! Tom said that the code is correct and in the right place in header.php so there should be no problems there. I tried reloading the favicon to the server in the mushblue theme folder using the ftp file manager in dreamweaver, which again I have been assured is correct. But no!!! No sign of the damn things.
Its really frustraiting as I’m sure I’m missing something blindingly obvious and I hate it that Friday’s lecture is so far away as I really want to get this blooming favicon to display now…if it’s the last thing I do.
No commentsDownloaded Wordpress Themes
I decided to to see how my website would look when in several different theme templates I’ve previously downloaded, just to spice things up a little. I downloaded each of the below themes and uploaded them to the server using the ftp manager in dreamweaver. I then activated each of them using the dashboard. However I didn’t like these themes, I much preferred the mushblue theme, which I downloaded and then dramatically edited to give it a personal touch. Here are screen shots of all the themes I downloaded and used, just to prove my ftp and theme installation capabillities:
Wordpress Default Theme:

Wordpress Classic Theme:

Box Blue Theme:

Major background change using CSS
I then took the changing of CSS to the next level and made drastic changes to the background of my blog. Firstly I removed the original, rather plain background images. I then created a new image in photoshop that I wanted to replace it with. Once I had finished making the picture I then saved it to the images folder in my wordpress document, which then automatically shows in my dreamweaver.
Once this showed in dreamweaver I then uploaded it to the server. Then I went into the Style Sheets folder in wordpress and added the image to the background in the body section of the style sheet. The end result is a new picture showing in the background of my blog. This is starting to show an understanding of how CSS actually works.
No commentsChanges to Theme using CSS
I have made a few bigger changes to my blog using CSS. In order to do this I went into my styles sheets in the theme editor. I then changed the text body colour to blue using a really helpful website that lists CSS colour codes. The web address for this is http://html-color-codes.com/ . I then went to the body section and deleted the original code for the original text colour and replaced it with the new colour code.
No commentsScreen Shot of Mush Blue Theme in its original state
Here is a screen print of my favourite chosen theme in its original state. This is so that whoever is marking this can see the changes I have made to the original theme i.e. I have already changed banner, width between banner and rest of the blog using CSS, added widgets etc. More changes will be added soon:
